John has lived in Thurston County since the mid-70s. Being outdoors has always been a part of the Lorenzo family lifestyle. Including lots of fishing, camping, and hunting for John, his wife Judy, and two sons Collin and Cameron. John and Judy were married outdoors in 1983.

In the 80s, John was trained in the craft of fiberglass repair in Yelm at Hytec Manufacturing. He worked the BX repair line for gelcoat bathtubs, showers, and shower tub combinations. John was often recognized for leading the team’s weekly and monthly repair quotas. He soon applied this skill to repair of boats and personal watercraft as a hobby.
In 1990, John decided to start John’s Fiberglass Repair, so he could be a stay at home dad with his second son. This allowed his wife, Judy, to work days and John would work evenings and weekends. The deal was: Judy would have to take her vacation during deer and elk seasons! It was a good balance while the boys were young.
When you talk to John on the phone you may recognize his voice. For several years he also worked at the former Olympia Archery Shop near Ken Lake in Olympia. Today John enjoys archery, pheasant, and upland hunting, and fishing with his grown sons. Fall is family butchering season after the harvest, with Judy, the daughters-in-laws, and the grand kids.
You might see John steelhead fishing in western Washington in his camo sled, sometimes with his Labradors. John is an avid dog handler. Chances are you might find him out at Scatter Creek pheasant hunting or training the dogs for a competition.
